Cos it won't be the same anymore...

Why do we have anniversary to remind us of the pain which we desperately want to forget? Is it really to pay respect to the dead or just the tradition and we are following suit only? Why do we need to celebrate special occasions when we know that the miserable days will just continue even after this special day? Will it somehow give us a warm feeling during those cold, dark days? I don't see any purpose in doing so when all we do is quarrel, quarrel and quarrel over nothing. In the end, all those hurtful things were spilled out in a fit of anger. What's the use of mulling over and regretting over what you have said? As the saying goes, no use crying over spilled milk. We can't take back what's being said and the other party can't just erase that from their mind as easily.
Why do people have emotions? Why can't we be like robots? If there's no emotions, there's won't be any conflict. People won't feel sad, happy, jealous or ambitious etc. There will be peace cos none of us is capable of feeling, albeit it will be mundane and we go thru life as it is. If any of you watched I, Robot, we could see that the robots are incapable of staging a revolt. It was the programme that controlled them. The virtual controller was moulded into human-like, complete with feelings. As she felt unfair that humans were the one dictating the world, she staged a revolt by reprogramming the robots again. As such, this is the kind of emotion which will lead to conflict. Without emotions, will this world truly be a better place? However, if we didn't have any emotions, we would never know what's the feeling of being happy and loved. There's a balance to every emotion and things in this world, an opposite to everything. Why keep this balance when all we need to do is to not to have any of such thing exists in the first place? All things questions are rhetoric and we could never provide any answer to it. But I couldn't help wondering...
Sometimes I wonder if the balance is there so that we would treasure the moments we felt happy and loved? Do we really have to go thru one terrible trial and tribulation before we can cherish what we once had? To teach us a lesson so that next time we won't make the same mistake again and so we will feel happy always? But isn't that a wishful thinking? How can someone feel happy all the time when there are yet so many things for us to go thru and so much pain in the process before we can reach the forbidden fruit, eternal happiness? If we reflect back on our lives, almost everything that has happened to us has been the result of emotions. Would you rather have emotions, to have a rollercoaster ride of feelings than a void of feelings, live life like it is?
Sigh..this post isn't going anywhere. It's just some thoughts which occur to me sometimes. It can go on even longer if it wasn't for the talk with my colleague just now. It made me feel more calm..but it won't be the same anymore..

Blank pages anxiously await the words
They so desperately need to feel alive.
Encasing thoughts that are dying to be heard
Screaming out the things we often try to hide
The beauty of verse, the power of prose.
Filling the world with profound emotion.
Thoughts & feelings, every nerve is exposed.
Tossing us into the depths of a chaotic ocean.
